We are currently working with a well‑established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in West Lothian who is looking to appoint an Assistant Estimator to join their growing commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in groundworks or civils who’s looking to further develop their estimating career within a fast‑growing business working on major projects across Scotland for blue‑chip clients.
Working closely with the Commercial Director, you’ll play a key role in the pre‑construction phase, helping drive commercial success.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation of costing for groundworks and civils projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and other documents
- Produce accurate take‑offs and assist with cost build‑ups
- Support pricing of works
- Liaise with site teams and operational staff as required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an estimating or quantity surveying role
- Ideally with background in groundworks, civils, or construction
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good understanding of construction processes and cost structures
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience
- Salary up to 40,000 (depending on experience)
