Our client, a prominent organisation in the Defence & Security sector, is in search of two Assembly Technicians to join their team based in Hillend on a 10‑month contract.

This role is ideal for individuals who have a keen understanding of assembly processes and a high level of attention to detail, aimed at contributing to the manufacture and repair of complex military products such as Radar, Avionics, and Underwater systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembling and processing products according to work instructions and detailed technical drawings.
  • Repairing and modifying current and legacy military products.
  • Utilising business systems to record product history and compliance.
  • Working under minimal supervision, providing support for development where needed.
  • Job Requirements
  • Understanding of assembly disciplines such as wiring, fitting, PCB assembly, or microelectronics processing.
  • Capability to assemble, disassemble or modify electronic or mechanical components, sub‑assemblies, and systems.
  • Experience with and knowledge of a limited range of products and medium/low expertise in disciplines.
  • Proficiency in using and complying with relevant Business Management System (BMS) procedures and SHE policies.
  • Formal qualifications in appropriate workmanship standards such as ANSI J, IPC, or similar.
  • Awareness of Lean Principles and support for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to exchange technical information articulately and concisely.
  • Strong team‑working skills.
