An established civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of major infrastructure and civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to work within a growing business delivering high-value projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project costs, budgets, and financial reporting across multiple civil engineering schemes.
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts.
  • Administer contracts in accordance with NEC and other relevant forms.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and contractual obligations.
  • Provide accurate cost forecasting and cash flow reporting.
  • Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure commercial performance.
  • Lead commercial meetings and support the wider commercial team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project finances from start to completion.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar (preferred).
  • Membership or working towards membership with a professional body such as RICS or CIOB (desirable).
