An established civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of major infrastructure and civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to work within a growing business delivering high-value projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project costs, budgets, and financial reporting across multiple civil engineering schemes.
- Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts.
- Administer contracts in accordance with NEC and other relevant forms.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and contractual obligations.
- Provide accurate cost forecasting and cash flow reporting.
- Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure commercial performance.
- Lead commercial meetings and support the wider commercial team.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project finances from start to completion.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar (preferred).
- Membership or working towards membership with a professional body such as RICS or CIOB (desirable).
