Connect Appointments is recruiting an Assistant Warehouse Manager to join an established retail distribution business based in Livingston on a full‑time permanent basis. Our client operates a large, busy distribution centre in Livingston, offering a back shift position with a competitive salary and a clear operational remit from day one.
What's on offer?
- Full‑time permanent position
- Monday to Friday, 11am to 9pm
- £32,000 to £34,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
As an Assistant Warehouse Manager, your duties will include:
- Supporting the day‑to‑day management of the distribution centre and warehouse operative team
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety, productivity and timekeeping across the site
- Ensuring work is allocated, completed and reported accurately within required timescales
- Assisting with training, mentoring and the development of a multiskilled workforce
- Supporting grievance meetings, return to work interviews and disciplinary processes
- Managing consumables ordering and maintaining appropriate inventory levels
- Implementing procedures and responding quickly to operational change
To be considered as an Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will need:
- Previous experience in a warehouse management or supervisory role within a large, fast‑paced distribution environment
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including stock and inventory processes
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills with experience engaging a range of stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using warehouse management systems
- Experience in retail or FMCG distribution is advantageous
