The Company
A well-established, medium-sized accountancy practice is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is actively studying towards a recognised qualification (ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) and is looking to gain practical experience within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Production of VAT returns and management accounts.
- Perform bookkeeping duties using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Dext.
- Liaise with clients to gather records and provide updates on progress.
- Assist senior team members with ad-hoc tasks and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
- Continue to develop technical skills and accounting knowledge through hands‑on experience and study support.
Candidate Profile
- Be actively studying towards ACCA, ACA, or equivalent.
- Have at least 2-3 years\’ experience in a professional accountancy practice.
- Possess a solid understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
