ELGT is looking to employ a practical, site-focused Greenspace Projects Officer to help deliver a wide range of environmental and landscape projects — from parks and active travel routes to habitat creation and woodland works. You will spend a significant amount of time on site, working with contractors, solving problems and keeping projects moving.
Key responsibilities
- Supervising contractors on site – monitoring quality, progress and performance.
- Coordinating works and solving on‐site issues to keep projects on track.
- Supporting project planning, design development and programming.
- Checking drawings, specifications and works on the ground.
- Supporting contract admin, snagging and project handover.
- Monitoring health & safety and compliance on site.
- Working with councils, partners and communities.
Who this role would suit
- Essential Experience in landscaping, construction or land‐based project delivery.
- Strong site supervision or contractor coordination experience.
- Experience working to drawings, specifications and programmes.
- Good understanding of health & safety on site.
- Confidence dealing with contractors and resolving issues.
- Desirable Green infrastructure or habitat project experience.
- Public sector or funded project experience.
- Relevant H&S qualifications (IOSH/SSSTS/SMSTS).
In addition to the above, you should have a driving licence and access to a vehicle. There may also be occasional evening or weekend work.
