We have a fantastic opportunity for you to kickstart a career in aviation. At Edinburgh Airport, you have the chance to deliver meaningful and tangible change. You will walk around the terminal and campus and see the difference you have helped make. Our Systems Specialists manage and maintain the core solutions which support the entire airport operation, from critical resource management (ERP) to flight information displays and bag drop solutions. We provide in-depth subject matter expertise on the technical solutions and the operational procedures they support. We work closely with our airport colleagues to get the best from the systems we have, to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Problem-solving and finding creative solutions via technology, to deliver high-quality operations and valuable data, is a large part of what we do. In a graduate role, you will also be exposed to other technical disciplines and teams to help broaden your airport knowledge, whilst adding value to our organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work alongside existing systems experts on day-to-day tasks and management of core solutions.
  • You will learn from our IT specialists and managers, who will coach and mentor you throughout your 24-month programme.
  • You will get involved in various IT projects and initiatives that support the airport's operations and growth plans.
  • Work with airport teams and partners to understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Play a role in active projects to deliver new or upgraded systems.
  • Take on responsibility for delivering improvements to minor airport systems.
  • Assist in the design of changes and enhancements to core airport systems, with responsibility for ensuring enhancements deliver technically and operationally.
  • Pro-actively seek out and recommend improvements.

What we’re looking for:

  • To have completed or be about to complete a technology related degree, or you have a strong interest in technology and a degree in another discipline.
  • This role requires the successful candidate to obtain a Counter Terrorist Check, so you must have been living in the UK for the last 3 consecutive years.
  • A keen attention to detail.
  • A positive and supportive manner.
  • Have a curious mindset and a passion for learning new things.
  • To communicate well and build strong working relationships with others.
  • To be open minded to change and new ways of working.
  • To have good problem-solving abilities.
  • An ability to work on your own initiative.
  • You enjoy working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • You are flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands.

If your experience looks slightly different to what we've listed here, we encourage you to still apply. You could add something we didn't know we needed.

How we’ll support you:

  • We will provide mentoring alongside existing system and operational specialists to ensure you get the support and reassurance needed to progress.
  • We will provide formal technical or specialist training where needed.
