We are looking to recruit a hands-on and pragmatic operational HRBP to join our airport team. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will work as an integral member of the airport People team, proactively supporting line management in the delivery of the people strategy for the airport. You will act as an advisor to managers supporting high performance, developing their capabilities and enabling an inclusive and positive employee experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Advise, coach and influence team leaders and managers to help them make informed business decisions in relation to the effective management and development of their people.
- Provide expert advice and assistance to all managers on complex absence, performance disciplinary and grievance cases, referring to Head of HR for guidance where necessary, and ensuring fair, consistent, legally & regulatory compliant approaches.
- Develop and deliver relevant coaching and training to managers on HR policies and processes.
- Work closely with occupational health to provide support and recommendations to the business in order to manage absence effectively but with compassion.
- Guide managers through the performance management cycle, including objective setting, development planning, and reviews.
- Build effective and constructive relationships and partnerships with employees, managers and trade union representatives.
- Work closely with department managers and the Head of HR, to support initiatives that foster an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing workforce.
- Provide support in maintaining effective establishment control, including secondments and career developments in the business.
- Analyse HR data (turnover, absence, engagement, performance etc) and provide insights to improve decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement of HR processes, systems, manager and employee experience.
- Support and deliver HR projects as appropriate.
What we’re looking for:
- This role requires the successful candidate to obtain a Counter Terrorist Check, so you must have been living in the UK for the last 3 consecutive years.
- Experience in an HR Business Partner or HR generalist role.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Demonstrated experience supporting managers through change and organisational transitions.
- Lateral thinker, capable of delivering innovative and pragmatic solutions at pace and through others where required.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and coaching skills, empowering managers to be better leaders.
- Experience of HR in a complex unionised environment advantageous.
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and decision making capabilities.
- Data driven approach with the ability to interpret insights to guide action and results.
- Ability to manage own workload and competing priorities to end objectives with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and an understanding of business needs.
- Highly PC and systems literate including proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly master bespoke reporting software.
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or Level 7) or equivalent experience.
