Working for Edinburgh Airport Services Ltd (EASL), you will work in the baggage hall preparing bags in the Early Bag Store until ready to be redistributed into the baggage system.

About the recruitment process

Successful candidates for this role will be invited to a one stage, in person interview with our Early Bag Store Manager, and one of our Early Bag Store team leaders. This will be a competency based interview, to understand your experience, and to ask questions on our values. Please note, our interview process may be adjusted depending on the volume of candidates. What you’ll be doing

  • Keeping an eye open for suspicious-looking baggage items at all times and reporting anything immediately.
  • Correctly loading and storing luggage until the MUPs are ready.
  • Sorting loads according to their onward destination.
  • Loading baggage from cages onto conveyor.
  • Scanning baggage before dispatching to carousels.
  • Recording and dealing with damaged or incorrectly received baggage.
  • Using specialist equipment such as conveyors, bar code recognition.
  • Informing baggage controllers about damaged or malfunctioning equipment.

What we’re looking for

  • To apply for this role, you’ll need to be aged 18 years or over due to shift requirements.
  • Experience of working in an airport.
  • Experience of manual lifting in previous roles.
  • Well organised and able to manage fluctuating workload.
  • Be physically fit to deal with heavy lifting for full shifts.
  • Be reliable and honest.
  • Candidate must be medically fit – Required to pass an airside medical assessment.
