The Role:
As a Mechanical Design / Process Design Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design of our energy projects. You will be helping to create some of the most innovative and sophisticated energy solutions available, producing megawatt-capable products that save on energy costs and deliver energy utilisation of up to 95%.
Producing detailed engineering documentation, you will support the successful delivery of Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Tri Generation, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) installations from initial concept through to commissioning and operation. Working closely with the Design Manager, you will generate specifications, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and functional and technical design documents, and oversee the design of mechanical systems.
You will also perform safety assessments, carry out pipe and pump sizing calculations, and co-ordinate CAD design activities to ensure quality and timely delivery. Additionally, you will:
- Liaise with project managers, suppliers, and clients
- Assist with project budgeting and cost-effective design delivery
- Manage supplier performance and sign off in line with project quality plans
- Provide on-site technical support, including layout surveys and troubleshooting
About You:
To be considered as a Mechanical Design / Process Design Engineer, you will need:
- To be a competent Mechanical Engineer with experience in power generation, pipework and ventilation design, CDM, and health & safety
- A minimum of five years' experience in technical management and the development of energy projects
- Competency in Microsoft Office packages and experience using AutoCAD 3D or equivalent
- A minimum qualification of HNC/D or degree qualified in mechanical engineering or equivalent, with a focus on power generation
- A full, valid driving licence
Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm.
