The Role

As a Health and Safety Officer, you will support our safety, health and environmental compliance across GB. Reporting to the Group Health and Safety Officer, you will act as the primary point of contact for all safety, health, and environmental matters within the region, ensuring adherence to current legislation and internal policies. You will assist in conducting risk assessments and identifying ways to reduce risk, whilst supporting the maintenance of our ISO Integrated Management System. Beyond this, you will develop health and safety strategies and internal policies and conduct regular inspections across sites and offices to ensure proper implementation.

About You

To be considered as a Health and Safety Officer, you will need:

  • At least 3 years' experience within the construction industry
  • Experience in formulating policies and risk assessments
  • Experience of implementing, monitoring, reviewing, and auditing safety processes
  • Knowledge or experience of ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001
  • Knowledge of CDM, LOLER, PUWER, Electricity at Work Act, and Gas Safety Regulations
  • A good understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 in an engineering or civil engineering context
  • Effective IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
  • A NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction H&S or equivalent/higher
  • A full, valid driving licence

Hours of Work: Monday - Thursday 8:30 - 5pm & Friday 8.30 am - 4.00 pm. You will be required to travel for this position throughout the UK and possibly Ireland.
