EDGINGTONS ARCHITECTS is one of the longest continuously operating RIBA Chartered Architect Practices in the UK, with offices in Windsor, London, and a recently opened studio in Southampton.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in either our Windsor or Southampton offices for architectural technicians and technologists.

The role involves preparing detailed technical drawings and models, producing construction documentation, and supporting the design team in turning concepts into buildable solutions.

Responsibilities include coordinating technical information with consultants, contractors, and wider project teams, contributing to building regulations and planning submissions, and ensuring design intent is maintained through all project stages.

The position also requires accurate revision and maintenance of project documentation, participation in project meetings, and practical problem-solving on issues of buildability, materials, and detailing.

Team members are expected to collaborate closely with architects and designers, uphold quality and compliance standards, and contribute to a supportive studio environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical design skills, including the ability to produce accurate drawings, details, and specifications for a range of building types.
  • Proficiency in relevant architectural software (e. g. Revit or other BIM tools, and 3D modelling software) and confidence working with digital workflows.
  • Solid understanding of UK building regulations, construction methods, materials, and industry standards, with experience in coordinating information with consultants and contractors.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and respond positively to feedback.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Relevant qualification in architectural technology, architecture, or a related discipline; membership or eligibility for membership of CIAT or similar professional body is an advantage.
  • Experience in one or more of the practice’s sectors (such as education, residential, Justice or heritage) is beneficial, along with an interest in community-focused design.
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn from director-led project involvement and mentoring within the team.
