Contract Type: Maternity Cover (starting January 2027) Salary: Competitive Closing Date: 12.00 pm 18 September 2026 This is a role for someone who will lead and develop girls' sport across the school, delivering high-quality PE lessons, coaching Netball as the primary programme and contributing to Hockey, Football and Cricket. You will plan fixtures, manage logistics, develop players and coaches, and support a broad extra-curricular sports offer while covering a teacher's professional duties during the maternity period. Essential
- Degree or equivalent relevant to teaching aspects of the role.
- Experience teaching PE and/or coaching children in a school or similar setting.
- Strong coaching knowledge and experience in Netball, plus ability to contribute confidently to Hockey, Football and Cricket.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including planning fixtures and using online systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, colleagues and parents.
- GCSE-level literacy (or equivalent) and ability to plan differentiated lessons.
Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Experience leading a school sports programme or organising inter-school fixtures.
- Experience with SOCS or similar sports management systems.
- Relevant PE/coaching qualifications, first aid qualification, minibus entitlement.
- Experience coaching performance-level or representative sport.
About the team or department The Sports Department is well resourced and benefits from 50 acres of Surrey countryside, large pitches, a floodlit Astroturf, Punshon Sports Hall, climbing wall and an outdoor heated pool. You will report to the Director of Sport and work with specialist colleagues across age ranges to deliver a joined-up games programme and extra-curricular offer.
