This isn’t your typical enterprise sales role. We’re partnered with a globally recognised enterprise business that has launched a brand-new Data Monetisation division focused on commercialising one of the richest datasets in the UK market. Backed by significant investment and led by senior AI and data leadership, this new function is being built to unlock high-value commercial partnerships across Financial Services. They’re hiring their first Head of Business Development to spearhead the Finance vertical. This is a genuine build role. You’ll own the commercial strategy, land the first flagship customers, shape the GTM motion, and ultimately build the function around you. The business already has the scale, brand recognition, funding and data. Now they need the commercial leader to turn that into revenue.
What You’ll Own
- Build the Finance GTM strategy across banking, hedge funds, PE, fraud, risk and consulting
- Own full-cycle enterprise sales from prospecting through to close
- Sell consultatively and shape tailored data solutions around client pain points
- Launch strategic partnerships with brokers, distributors and alternative data partners
- Build scalable onboarding frameworks and revenue processes from scratch
- Work closely with AI, Product, Engineering and Privacy teams to influence future offerings
What They’re Looking For
- Proven experience selling data, analytics or alternative-data products into Financial Services
- Track record landing enterprise deals with banks, hedge funds, PE firms or regulated industries
- Strong commercial negotiation skills across licensing, compliance and complex deal structures
- Experience operating in ambiguity within startup or greenfield environments
- Builder mentality with the ability to create, not inherit
- Existing Financial Services network is highly advantageous
Why This Role is Special
- First commercial hire into a major new business line
- Startup pace and autonomy with enterprise-level backing and stability
- Huge opportunity to shape the future of the division
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic initiatives
- Strong package including LTIPs/share scheme, car allowance and pension match
The first 6 months are heavily focused on revenue generation and proving market fit. From there, the opportunity is to build and lead the wider GTM function. If you’ve sold complex data solutions into finance and want the chance to build something meaningful inside a globally recognised business, this is worth a conversation.
