Are you looking to progress your career by working on bigger, more complex real estate deals? Perhaps you’ve relocated to London and you’re struggling to get into a “city” law firm. Or you want a step up but don’t want a target of 2000 billable hours? This could be your chance to get exposure to a real variety of interesting work.
Think lettings for retailers on New Bond Street, leases for national coffee chains and sales and acquisitions of real estate portfolios for corporate investors and funds. That’s the type of work you can expect. You will also gain exposure to strategic land development. For example, they recently worked on a £30m+ housing and leisure development - this means lots of bespoke drafting and negotiations.
75% of your time will be spent on commercial real estate. The other 25% will be high end residential, typically £1m+ in value. This isn’t a conveyancing role, but by continuing to do some of this work, you’ll continue to hone your broad skillset.
This law firm are often in the press, appearing in articles aimed at property developers, investors and commercial landlords. They’re also regulars in property networking events (a number of the team are at MIPIM) and have ties internationally, working with clients from the Middle East to the US.
You’ll work as part of a 3 Partner team, therefore will receive mentoring and training from a number of senior lawyers, 2 of whom were promoted internally. It’s a fun and friendly environment, where you’ll be encouraged to ask questions and allowed lots of face time with clients.
This is a hybrid role. The firm are based near Bank Station, and you’ll be expected to go into the office 3 days a week.
What you’ll need:
- 2-4 PQE Solicitor. Qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales.
- Experience as a Commercial Real Estate Associate, gained within private practice.
