Hypothetical breakdown of pro-rata salary:

  • If appointed to this part time (5 hours per week) position at the bottom of the salary band (Grade 3 – point 11) your anticipated gross pay per month would be £194.35. Edge Hill University pay term staff monthly in arrears, in twelve equal instalments.
  • This example monthly gross pay figure is based on:
  • Full Time Full Year equivalent salary of £24215 ÷ 52 weeks ÷ 36.25 hours (full time equivalent contract hours) = £12.8462 per hour.
  • £12.8462 per hour x 5 hours per week x 36.31 weeks (i.e., the 32 term time working weeks you work + 4.31 additional pay weeks in lieu of your annual leave and statutory leave) = £2332.23 annual actual gross salary before tax, national insurance, and any other deductions.
  • £2332.23 ÷ 12 months = £194.35 equal gross pay monthly instalments.
  • This scenario is based on a start date of 1st September and working a full year. This example salary amount is subject to change depending on candidate start-date within the year, and where in the salary band the candidate is hired
