Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to join the Faculty of Health Social Care and Medicine to provide quality research to support an enthusiastic team of academics (Professors of Medical Education and Clinical Education) leading research projects within the Medical School, Faculty of Health Social Care & Medicine, and Health Research Institute. The research project aims to understand what factors have contributed to successful interventions that have substantially improved training outcomes of International Medical Graduates (IMPGs). By identifying common features, the research will provide practical insights to improve training, fairness, and long-term workforce sustainability across the NHS.

Responsibilities

  • Have a strong Understanding of Qualitative methodology
  • Be a strong team player; with the ability to work independently towards shared outcomes
  • Be skilled in the creation of reports and project write ups
  • Contribute to the authoring of scholarly articles for publication in high quality, peer reviewed journals and other media
  • Take a lead with the overall administration of the project and be responsible for own areas of research

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have research experience working with General Medical Council, or with senior healthcare managers, with whom there will be regular liaison throughout the course of the project.
