About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to join the Department of Secondary and Further Education within the Faculty of Education.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with young people, teachers, and local faith and community leaders.
- Collecting and analysing qualitative data.
- Disseminating research at national and international conferences and through peer-reviewed publishing outlets (chapters, journal articles, etc.)
You will work closely with colleagues across the department and faculty to assist in the research activity connected to the project ‘Teaching through division: developing new directions for social and civic engagement in religion and worldviews education’, funded by the Culham St Gabriel’s Trust.

About You
As Research Assistant for this project,you will have:
- Interest and/or expertise in questions related to religion, young people, education, and/or civic engagement;
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills and an eye for detail;
- High organisational skills;
- A friendly, approachable and flexible attitude with a willingness to learn;
- Experience of organising and/or supporting research projects/initiatives involving young people.
It is important to note that the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced Child disclosure for you from the Disclosure and Barring Service and that this will form part of the conditions of offer of employment.
