This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Officer to join the Digital Transformation Team at Edge Hill University. This role gives you the opportunity to work across data management, data quality, mapping, validation, documentation, integration and reporting.
This role offers the chance to play a meaningful role in one of the University’s major change programmes, helping to shape how student and applicant data is understood, improved and used as part of the move to Banner and CRM Recruit. The role involves building strong working relationships with technical teams, business areas, suppliers and subject matter experts. It is a good opportunity for someone who enjoys practical data work and wants to develop their experience in system implementation, data governance and data improvement, with the chance to leave behind clearer, more trusted and more usable data foundations for the University.
Responsibilities- Developing and maintaining a clear understanding of student and application data across CRM Recruit, Banner, Banner Insights and related systems, including how data is held, transformed, moved and used.
- Creating and maintaining data dictionaries, catalogues, mapping documents, validation evidence and issue logs, making sure data is accurate, understood, and suitable for reporting, migration, integration, archiving, and operational use.
- Working with business teams, technical colleagues, Ellucian consultants and project teams to clarify requirements, resolve data issues, support testing and assurance, and help colleagues understand new data models, ownership and governance expectations.
- Strong practical experience working with structured data, including data mapping, data quality, validation, documentation, data dictionaries and supporting system implementation activity.
- Ability to work across technical teams, suppliers, consultants and business colleagues to understand how data is held, moved and used, and be able to explain issues clearly with evidence and practical recommendations.
- Good attention to detail, sound judgement and strong organisational skills.
- Confidence to work independently while knowing when to elevate.
- A curious, collaborative and delivery focused mindset, with a genuine interest in improving how student and applicant data is understood, trusted and used across the University.
