As Legal and Compliance Services Assistant, you will provide administrative and operational support across legal services, insurance, contracts, information governance and wider compliance activity. As a central point of contact, you will ensure routine enquiries are acknowledged, accurately recorded, directed and monitored through to completion. You will support legal matters, insurance claims, Freedom of Information requests, Subject Access Requests and other compliance processes by gathering documents, coordinating actions and monitoring deadlines. You will maintain accurate case files, trackers and audit trails, produce routine management information and help improve processes, templates and guidance. This varied role offers broad practical experience in a regulated environment. Working with experienced University colleagues and external advisers, including legal advisers, insurers, brokers and the outsourced Data Protection Officer, you will develop transferable expertise through practical experience, training and specialist collaboration. You will be highly organized and proactive, able to manage a varied workload, work accurately and meet deadlines. You will have experience of administrative or operational support, gathering and checking information, maintaining accurate records and communicating professionally. This may have been gained through employment, academic study, placement, volunteering or another relevant activity. You will be confident using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams and able to learn new systems quickly. As well as bringing strong communication skills, attention to detail and sound judgement, together with the integrity and discretion to handle confidential, personal, legally sensitive and commercially sensitive information. An interest in legal operations, insurance, contracts, information governance or compliance would be welcomed.
