This is an exciting opportunity to join the Corporate Communications Team. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive university environment that emphasises skill building and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Internal Communications Support: Preparation, drafting, editing and formatting of materials like intranet content, emails, newsletters; lead routine activity such as staff updates and announcements, source and draft new stories; manage scheduling and posting across channels; provide proofreading.
  • Channels and Content Administration: Maintain intranet sites; coordinate content calendars; upload/organise assets on SharePoint; monitor engagement analytics and report summaries.
  • Stakeholder and Team Support: Liaise with colleagues for content gathering; manage communications requests and inbox; provide admin support like meetings and follow-ups; maintain filing systems and tools like Teams.

About You

  • Experience in drafting, editing and formatting communications for internal purposes.
  • Hands-on work with internal channels such as SharePoint and staff including scheduling, posting and basic analytics monitoring.
  • Administrative support in teams including managing inboxes, content calendars, filing systems and event logistics for campaigns or staff events.
  • Strong writing and proofreading abilities to produce clear, accurate, accessible content that highlights university achievements and initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools (e.g., Teams, Planner, SharePoint) for content organisation updates and simple reporting on engagement metrics.
  • Organisational skills for coordinating requests, stakeholder liaison across departments and ensuring compliance with policies like data protection and accessibility.
  • Collaborative and proactive mindset to build positive relationships, contribute to team improvements and represent the department.
  • Eagerness for professional development in internal comms, digital content and employee engagement.
