Site Services is essential to the smooth running of the University, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and maintained to the highest standards. As a Housekeeper, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality cleaning and portering services across campus.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and deep cleaning across academic, residential and support areas.
- Support portering activities and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with service level agreements.
- Engage with students, staff and visitors, providing a professional and friendly service.
- Work flexibly across different areas of campus and adapt to changing operational needs, including occasional weekend work.
Employment
- Part‑Time – 15 hours per week.
- Part‑Time, Term‑Time Only – 20 or 30 hours per week.
- Flexibility to work any 5 days in a week, with potential weekend duties when required.
- Term‑time postholders will be expected to take leave outside their contracted working weeks.
- Extra pay (pro rata to contracted hours) will be provided in lieu of annual leave and statutory holidays.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cleaning and/or portering within a large or complex environment.
- Good understanding of industry standards and best practices.
- Confidence using cleaning and portering equipment, and willingness to undertake training and ongoing development.
- Proactive approach, pride in work, attention to detail and ability to identify areas for improvement without direction.
- Strong customer‑service skills and ability to work as part of a team.
