We are looking for an influential and forward‑thinking Finance Business Partner to join our new Business Partnering Team and play a key role in shaping the institution's financial strategy. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Finance, you will provide high‑quality financial insight, build strong relationships with senior leaders, and help drive a positive, collaborative financial culture across the organisation.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Delivering professional, customer focused financial support to your service areas, translating complex information into clear, actionable advice
- Leading on annual budgeting, quality forecasting, staffing establishment management, capital and project reporting, and full costing models
- Analysing key performance indicators, highlight trends, and investigate variances
- Champion value for money, ethical practice, and continuous improvement in financial management
- Innovating financial processes to make insights more accessible and impactful
- Providing training and guidance to staff with financial responsibilities and support the development of a unified financial management culture
- Ensuring compliance with procurement practices and contribute to cross institution initiatives
- Deputising for the Deputy Director of Finance at budget holder meetings and collaborate closely with the wider Finance team
As Finance Business Partner, you will have:
- A high standard of numeracy, literacy and accuracy
- Good understanding of accounting principles; Ability to clearly explain financial concepts in a way that is easily understood by non‑finance managers.
- Confident communicator, able to influence and challenge senior managers in operational roles by building trust and confidence through demonstrated understanding of operational context
- A passion for improving systems, processes and organisational culture to analyse financial data
- Strong stakeholder management skills and expertise in communicating complex concepts effectively for buy‑in from senior‑level and all other relevant stakeholders
