About the Role
This is an exciting time to join Edge Hill University with the launch of a new strategy. This post will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the strategy, shaping the future and driving the change. This position sits within the newly formed Business Transformation function, and will focus on shaping, planning and delivering strategic change and transformation throughout the institution. You will be responsible for supporting a university-wide business optimisation programme.
Working closely with senior leaders, the role will help to identify and deliver business and process optimisation opportunities to increase business efficiency. You will use your highly effective analysis skills, innovative thinking and best practice to help to pinpoint opportunities and design solutions to deliver our services effectively. You will consider how digital enablers can be deployed to best effect to remove fragmentation and duplication of effort, helping to increase business resilience and ensure our staff can focus on delivering the services that provide the most value to students and colleagues.
Your main duties and responsibilities include:
- Leading analysis of existing processes and designing future state workflows and solutions that reduce duplication, waste and fragmentation.
- Scoping and capturing detailed business and user requirements, supporting the development of business cases, options appraisals, SLAs, and target operating models.
- Providing constructive challenge to uncover issues, test assumptions and ensure decisions are grounded in evidence.

- Highly effective communication skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Experience of contributing to large scale transformation or optimisation programmes within complex organisations (ideally in a higher education setting).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and capability to interpret management information to support decision making.
- An innovative and solution focused approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
- Confidence working with ambiguity, managing competing priorities and making sound judgements.
