Edge Careers are currently working with a key client who’s looking to recruit x2 Quantity Surveyors to their commercial team. This is working for a credible Residential Groundworks & Infrastructure Civils Contractor that typically works on behalf of a number of flagship house builders. This opportunity will be working in a well-established commercial team with support from Senior Quantity Surveyors and a Commercial Manager. You will be expected to oversee between 2-4 live projects depending on size, stage and value. The role involves being based out of their office working on projects across the East of England (South Yorkshire, East Midlands down to Cambridge areas) with occasional site visits where required.
Working Hours: 7:30am to 5pm
Holiday: 22 days + Bank Holidays
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, submit, and agree monthly valuations for projects
- Identify, price, and notify relevant parties of variations
- Conduct take-offs and measurements for groundworks and civil engineering tasks
- Procure materials for the works to be undertaken
- Negotiate and prepare final accounts with clients and contractors
- Report monthly on project commercial performance, highlighting risks and opportunities
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure efficient delivery
- Attend progress reviews and provide insights
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum 3/4 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction, civil engineering, or groundworks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organised and able to work independently or within a team
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits
