Edge Careers are currently recruiting on behalf of our client that\’s looking to take on an \’Injection Moulding Toolmaker\’.

In this role you will manufacture, maintain, repair, and modify injection moulding tools to ensure production efficiency and high-quality output. The role is critical in supporting production teams with reliable and precise tooling.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manufacture new injection mould tools from technical drawings and CAD data.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, repairs, and modifications on existing tools.
• Operate manual and CNC machines (e.g. milling machines, lathes, grinders, EDM).
• Conduct tool fitting, assembly, polishing, and testing to ensure functionality.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and support production and process engineers during tool trials.
• Maintain accurate records of tool history and maintenance logs.
• Ensure tools are produced to tight tolerances within specified timeframes.
• Work to health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to optimise tool performance.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience in injection mould toolmaking within a manufacturing environment.
• Skilled in toolroom machining (manual and CNC).
• Understanding of injection moulding processes and tool design.
• Competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience using CAD/CAM software (e.g. Delcam, SolidWorks, Fusion 360) is advantageous.
• Apprentice-trained or NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Toolmaking or Engineering (or equivalent).
Desirable Attributes:
• Familiarity with hot runner systems and complex tooling (multi-cavity, unscrewing, side action tools).
• Willingness to work shifts or flexible hours when required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude towards continuous improvement and quality standards.
