Edge Careers are working on behalf of our client that is looking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor. This is a well-established Groundworks Contractor, due to continued growth with further project wins it has become essential to add a further Health & Safety Advisor to their team. This is a business that has highlighted continued plans for further growth and can offer continued career progression.
I am looking to speak with Health & Safety individuals that have worked within the Construction Sector; it would be beneficial to have a proven track record within Groundworks & Civils but not essential. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple live projects and will typically cover the Northern Home Counties region (Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire). So someone located within this area that is used to a site-based role, typically travelling within an hour and a half radius. This position will offer support from an experienced Health & Safety Team and you will be provided with a Company Vehicle & Fuel Card. This is a direct position (paye) and the salary is negotiable depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and assistance to senior management and operations teams on SHE issues.
- Attend pre-commencement meetings as requested to proactively contribute to the initial decisions made by the contract team.
- Provide assistance/advice to the organisation to enable statutory notices to be applied for when required.
- Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy.
- Plan site visits and audits including reporting and follow-up actions to continually improve their HSEQ performance.
- Identify training needs and deliver on-site training including toolbox talks.
- Investigate accidents and incidents.
- Ensure Company compliance with CDM regulations and other relevant statutes.
- Bring to the attention of any Senior Contacts any serious breaches of Company policy, procedures and legislation.
- Promote a positive H&S Culture within the Company.
Requirements
- Proficient in First Aid techniques and emergency response protocols.
- Excellent report writing skills, capable of producing clear and concise documentation for internal use and regulatory compliance.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety in the workplace.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH or other relevant qualification).
- Experience as a Health and Safety Advisor working within the Construction Sector.
- Ability to work independently as well as contributing to team and company strategy.
- IT literate.
- Full Driving Licence.
