The Role
Our client is seeking an Estimator to join their pre-construction team. The successful candidate will support the preparation and management of tenders and budgets for new projects while assisting with the smooth and efficient running of all pre-construction activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines within a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare budgets and tender submissions for new projects
- Support the Pre-Construction Director with daily duties and project requirements
- Maintain tender diaries and manage submission deadlines
- Collate and manage tender documentation and amendments
- Review tender documents to establish project requirements
- Carry out manual and digital take-offs from drawings and tender information
- Produce Bills of Quantities
- Issue enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers
- Collate and evaluate returned quotations
- Prepare subcontractor comparison documents
- Input cost information into Bills of Quantities
- Prepare and submit tender documentation
- Manage post-tender queries through to contract award
- Coordinate and minute tender handover meetings with construction teams
- Maintain and update subcontractor databases
- Attend site visits as required
- Support filing and general administration duties
- Maintain a professional and organised working environment
- Work in line with company Integrated Management Systems including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 procedures
Candidate Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret technical and written information
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic approach
- Professional and approachable manner
- Reliable and dependable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full driving licence preferred
