Edge Careers are looking for an 'Assistant or Junior Site Engineer' for a Groundworks Contractor. We are looking for someone that already has a couple of years experience upwards who is looking to join a reputable business, which can provide great development and support working within a great team of experienced site and senior site engineers.

Company van, fuel card provided, 23 days annual leave – working hours 7:30am to 5pm.

What’s important for our client is someone that has a great attitude, who’s driven, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has that desire to learn and progress within this sector.

This Groundworks Contractor predominantly operates within the Residential Sector. They specialise in roads, sewers, infrastructure, bulk earthworks and housing plot groundworks.

What’s expected of you:

  • Good understanding of construction techniques and groundworks.
  • Knowledge of technical equipment for the role (Leica, Trimble etc).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to have a high level of accuracy and quality engineering to assist site teams and other site engineers with output of quality and ensuring a compliant product.
  • Ensuring that the latest drawings and information provided is accurate by checking drawing registers for all site operations and liaising with the technical department/team.
  • Any discrepancies to be resolved with the Technical Department.
  • Ensure that all setting out is checked once completed to ensure no errors have occurred during the process or from the client.
  • Keeping and logging adequate records for future reference and backup.
  • Store points and record changes or errors via email.
  • Ensure that any site/sites are monitored for setting out requirements by liaison with the relevant Contract Manager, Project Manager or Site Foreman.
  • Reaction to urgent requirements and prioritising workload on site and communication with other site engineers.
  • Checking instruments used are accurate and secure by maintaining a testing and service calibration regime.
  • Maintaining company and client Health & Safety policy at all times.
