We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Driver / Warehouse Operative with Trade Counter responsibilities. This is a varied role involving deliveries, warehouse duties, and direct customer interaction at the trade counter. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving Duties
    • Deliver goods to customers safely and on time
    • Load and unload delivery vehicles
    • Plan routes efficiently and ensure timely deliveries
    • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues
    • Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures
  • Warehouse Duties
    • Receive, check, and store incoming deliveries
    • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch
    • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
    • Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory control
    • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g. pallet trucks, forklifts if licensed)
  • Sales Counter Duties
    • Serve customers at the trade counter in a friendly and professional manner
    • Process sales orders, payments, and returns
    • Provide product information and basic technical advice
    • Promote products and upsell where appropriate
    • Handle customer queries and resolve issues efficiently

Skills & Experience Required

  • Valid clean UK driving licence (essential)
  • Previous experience in a driving and/or warehouse role
  • Experience working on a sales or trade counter (preferred)
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Basic IT skills for order processing systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good level of physical fitness (manual handling required)

Desirable

  • Forklift licence (Counterbalance)
  • Knowledge of products relevant to the industry (e.g. building supplies, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
