Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Driver / Warehouse Operative with Trade Counter responsibilities.
This is a varied role involving deliveries, warehouse duties, and direct customer interaction at the trade counter.
The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving Duties
- Deliver goods to customers safely and on time
- Load and unload delivery vehicles
- Plan routes efficiently and ensure timely deliveries
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any issues
- Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures
- Warehouse Duties
- Receive, check, and store incoming deliveries
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
- Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory control
- Operate warehouse equipment (e. g. pallet trucks, forklifts if licensed)
- Sales Counter Duties
- Serve customers at the trade counter in a friendly and professional manner
- Process sales orders, payments, and returns
- Provide product information and basic technical advice
- Promote products and upsell where appropriate
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues efficiently
Skills & Experience Required
- Valid clean UK driving licence (essential)
- Previous experience in a driving and/or warehouse role
- Experience working on a sales or trade counter (preferred)
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic IT skills for order processing systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good level of physical fitness (manual handling required)
Desirable
- Forklift licence (Counterbalance)
- Knowledge of products relevant to the industry (e. g. building supplies, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
- Experience using stock management systems
