SUMMARY

The Program Manager is a highly collaborative role supporting Edge Autonomy\'s growing work with the UK MoD. The Program Manager is responsible for leading the program team, ensuring deliverable requirements are reached and in accordance with budget, scope, and timing. The Program Manager supports the current prime contractor and customer relationship on current contract and will serve as the primary point of contact for our customer. The Program Manager will lead and manage separate work with the UK MoD and other UK government customers/partners. The Program Manager requires leadership, communication, influence, relationship building, and management skills coupled with Technical Project Management skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.

  • Develop and implement UAV program strategies and plans in accordance with the UK MoD and other UK government entities\' objectives and priorities.
  • Lead and serve as primary point of contact for existing work on the UK MoD\'s Program and support the prime contractor on the execution and future growth on the contract
  • Provides program oversight to cross-functional engineering teams during proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery phases of products in development and production phases
  • Coordinates with the manufacturing team as designs are transitioned to manufacturing, working with the technical team to identify ways to streamline manufacturing and assembly processes, achieving required delivery rates and reduced cost targets
  • Keeps customers, internal and external and leadership up to date on progress of work assigned
  • Serves as point of contact for customer field issues and coordinate engineering responses including Air Worthiness Directives, field repairs, troubleshooting
  • Ensures failure root cause analysis and corrective actions are accomplished as needed
  • Tracks and reports on program performance metrics including schedule performance
  • Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules
  • Tracks and manages issues/risks by working with internal and outside team members and stakeholders to determine mitigation and containment
  • Participates in CCB and ECO activities across engineering and manufacturing groups
  • Manages budget; holding teams responsible to program P&Ls
  • Manages timing and scope through leading internal processes working closely with Program Engineering teams
  • Performs as the primary point of contact with the immediate customer and program office leadership
  • Coordinates training requests and activities
  • Travels to support assigned programs and teams as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or technical discipline
  • Experience in Defense, Government contracting and Aerospace
  • 7+ years of Program or Project Management experience or similar (e.g. Lead IPT (Integrated Product Team), or Lead NPT (New Product Team) or Systems Engineering lead)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to get things done through influence and collaboration
  • Proven analytical, technical, strategic and problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense for self-direction with the ability to work under limited supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Excel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in design for manufacturing and transition to production programs
  • Gated design development experience (PDR, CDR)
  • Experience in the UAV market
  • PMP certified or in progress
  • Earned Value Management experience
  • Private industry experience
  • Strong customer support experience
