We are seeking an experienced, highly creative Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our premium private members’ Club. This is a hands-on role, working on the line and delivering consistently high-quality food across a diverse offering from daytime café menus to refined, high-end fine dining, hospitality and events. This role offers the successful candidate full ownership of the Club’s culinary direction. We are looking for a Head Chef who is passionate about creating beautiful, homemade food, working with high-quality, sustainably sourced produce and leading a kitchen where quality and sustainability truly matter.
You will have a strong passion for high-quality food and hands-on menu development, with the opportunity to launch and lead an elevated fine-dining concept, as well as create and develop lunch clubs and member-led dining experiences. While standards and expectations are high, the role offers significant creative freedom and the chance to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage, and motivate the kitchen brigade, fostering teamwork and professionalism
- Work on the line day-to-day, setting standards by example
- Create, develop, and regularly refresh seasonal menus with full creative input
- Deliver consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation and quality
- Oversee smooth kitchen operations across all service periods
- Control food costs, ordering, stock management, and supplier relationships
- Manage rotas, staff training, development, and performance reviews
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations (HACCP)
- Work closely with club management to deliver events, functions, and special occasions
- Handle member feedback professionally and constructively
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior kitchen role (Head Chef or strong Senior Sous ready to step up)
- Background in high-quality hospitality, from casual to fine dining
- Strong leadership skills with experience running a kitchen independently
- Highly creative with a passion for developing new ideas and menus
- Excellent culinary knowledge and technical ability
- Proven experience with menu costing, budgeting, and GP control
- Calm and organised under pressure in a member-focused environment
- Culinary qualifications preferred
- Food Safety certification required
- Passionate about food and service excellence
