We are seeking a
Financial Analyst to provide financial administration and data analysis support across the Hotel's accounts receivable, accounts payable and income audit functions.
This role will be for an initial 12 month fixed-term period.
The role holder will monitor daily income audit reconciliations, investigates and reports on any variances or anomalies, and manage the end-to-end supplier invoicing process, from Pelican receipting through to payment.
The role also carries a strong data analysis and reporting remit, using Excel and AI tools to build datasets, track trends and support the Finance team with data-driven insight for decision-making.
- What you’ll be doing
- Reviewing posting into the General Ledger (G/L) for accuracy across events.
- Reviewing future events and weddings for deposits and purchase orders (POs).
- Managing debt collection and liaising with the University of Birmingham (Uo B) for prompt payment.
- Conducting credit checks and undertaking regular account reviews.
- Resolving billing queries in a timely manner.
- Allocating debtor and commission payments.
- Reviewing group bookings and events prior to sending out invoices.
- Monitoring voucher redemptions (e. g. Voucher Cart).
- Conducting income audit, balancing the G/L and Newbridge system to cash, bank and card takings, including Visa, Amex and PCI compliance.
- Reporting on any imbalances, variances or anomalies identified.
- Maintaining internal trade receipts and allowances for correctness and tracking.
- Managing the Pelican invoicing and receipting process, resolving any challenges.
- Processing accounts payable (AP) invoices and updating the PO tracker.
- Reconciling supplier statements.
- Checking the validity of commission claims and processing related invoices.
- Undertaking data analysis, dataset-building and reporting to support financial and operational decision-making.
About you
You should have experience in finance administration, accounts or income audit, with a good understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes, debt collection and supplier management.
You’ll enjoy working with data, using tools such as Excel, Sage and reporting systems to spot trends, improve accuracy and turn financial information into useful insight.
