Department: EDF Trading's Human Resources team are based in London and Houston and provide a full range of HR support to all the Company’s offices.
Position purpose: The Senior HRBP serves as a strategic advisor to the trading desks and leadership. You will align the people strategy with commercial objectives in a volatile market.
Main responsibilities:
- Strategic Advisory: Act as a trusted partner to Senior Traders and Heads of Desk, providing data-driven insights to influence business decisions, workforce planning, and organizational design.
- Organizational Development: Lead initiatives in organizational design, workforce planning, and cultural transformation to improve efficiency.
- Talent & Succession Planning: Drive talent management strategies, including identifying high-potential employees and establishing robust succession plans.
- Risk & Compliance Management: Partner with Legal and Compliance to mitigate people-related risks, including conduct, regulatory changes, and employee relations in highly regulated environments.
- Data-Driven Insights: Leverage HR analytics and workforce metrics to identify trends, pre-empt future challenges, and measure program effectiveness.
- Coaching & Leadership: Coach senior leaders to enhance their people management capabilities and mentor junior members of the HR team.
- HR Project Leadership: Lead in the implementation of specific projects, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation.
Experience required: The ideal candidate will be a highly credible individual with a proven track record in developing, managing and implementing HR strategies across a range of business areas. Deep understanding of the commodity lifecycle, trading P&L, risk management (VaR, hedging), and the impact of global events on market volatility. They will have a broad range of HR experience and will be happy to do a mix of operational and strategic work.
Technical requirements: Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification. Experience of utilising HR systems (Workday). Strong understanding of employment law. High level of proficiency in digital HR tools.
