Are you a qualified engineer with a background in electrical or environmental engineering ? Do you have experience working in regulated environments and familiarity with engineering documentation and maintenance procedures? The Opportunity
As a Work Management (WEG) Engineer, you’ll support the development and implementation of work planning processes and tools to enable efficient execution and tracking of commissioning, planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance. Working within the Pre-Operations function, you’ll collaborate across departments to align priorities, allocate resources, and monitor progress—supporting the safe and effective delivery of Hinkley Point C within the UK regulatory framework.
You’ll gain experience with pressurised water reactors, contributing to construction and commissioning activities and preparing to take technical responsibility for designated systems post-handover. What you’ll be doing
You’ll report to the Work Management Lead and support the development of routine maintenance activities for the operational station within the Enterprise Asset Management System. Collaborating with the Equipment Reliability team, you’ll help define maintenance requirements and contribute to the design and enhancement of the asset management tool.
You’ll also support the creation of standards, procedures, and arrangements aligned with WANO AP928 to ensure safe and reliable operations. Working closely with the commissioning team, you’ll help improve cross-functional processes and deliverables, while actively contributing to the development and implementation of Work Management processes and procedures.
Who you are
You’ll have a strong science or engineering background—ideally with a degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering. You’ll have experience working in regulated industrial environments, including writing and using maintenance instructions, interpreting Maintenance and System Design Manuals, and reviewing engineering drawings. Strong organisational skills, effective written communication, and confidence with IT tools are essential, alongside experience conducting and documenting risk assessments.
We’re looking for someone familiar with work management processes and asset management systems such as Asset Suite, with an understanding of the WANO AP928 framework and its role in safe and reliable operations. Experience in commissioning processes—particularly on nuclear sites—would be an advantage, as would familiarity with APSA (Authorised Persons Safety Assessment) and knowledge of nuclear site licence conditions and compliance requirements.
