About the Role
Full-time, permanent position based in Bridgewater, Somerset initially with the objective to relocate to France.
Ready to use your risk and schedule expertise to influence one of the UKs most important infrastructure programmes? Do you have French and English-speaking skills?
As a Risk & Schedule Assurance Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in strengthening delivery confidence on a nationally significant nuclear project, providing independent insight that shapes decisions at the highest levels. At EDF, Success is Personal - your experience, your voice, and the impact you make all truly matter.
The Opportunity
As Risk & Schedule Assurance Lead, you'll initially be part of the Safety & Schedule Assurance function supporting the delivery of Hinkley Point C, a project of national importance that is helping drive the transition towards An Electric Britain. You'll provide independent oversight and challenge across project controls, risk and schedule management, offering credible assurance that integrated baselines, critical paths and milestones are robust, understood, and achievable. Through deep analysis and insight, you'll influence delivery teams, senior leaders and governance forums to strengthen confidence in cost, schedule and risk performance.
You’ll join us on a salary starting of c.80,000 per annum, dependent on experience, in a role based primarily at SDC, Bridgwater, with regular travel to the Hinkley Point C construction site and other project locations as required. You’ll operate at the heart of a live construction environment, engaging directly with delivery teams, project controls professionals and senior stakeholders. You’ll need to offer business-level proficiency in French communication skills.
In this highly visible role, you'll further develop your leadership and assurance capabilities within a complex, highly regulated nuclear environment. You'll enhance your expertise across integrated planning, schedule assurance and risk mitigation, while helping shape best practice and continuous improvement across the programme. EDF will support your professional growth as you build influence across multidisciplinary teams and contribute directly to successful delivery outcomes.
You will then progress your career at one of our EPR2 projects in France, such as Penly, Bugey, or Gravelines. This is your chance to be part of a significant program shaping the future of the French energy market and nuclear sector.
Who You Are
We're looking for a Risk & Schedule Assurance Lead who thrives in complex, fast-moving programmes and is confident providing independent challenge and insight to senior stakeholders. Are you experienced in:
- Providing expert assurance across project controls, including schedule, risk and performance reporting, within large-scale infrastructure or nuclear environments
- Analysing complex project data to assess adherence to governance, identify emerging risks, and recommend corrective actions
- Operating within highly regulated industries, with strong awareness of nuclear safety culture and regulatory expectations
- Supporting or assuring integrated planning structures, including multilevel schedules, lookahead planning and baseline control
- Influencing senior leaders, delivery teams and PMO functions through clear, evidence-based advice
- Using project controls and reporting tools such as Power BI, P6, or equivalent scheduling and performance systems
As this role will ultimately be based in France, you must have French-speaking skills or be willing to achieve professional-level proficiency in French by that time.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing independent risk and schedule assurance across delivery teams, PMO and governance forums
- Analysing schedule, risk and performance data to identify trends, gaps and areas of delivery concern
- Challenging the effectiveness and completeness of mitigation actions and project controls processes
- Attending and contributing to project reviews, risk workshops and schedule forums
- Sharing clear, actionable insights with delivery teams and senior leaders to support confident decision-making
