Ready to lead complex nuclear decommissioning challenges and shape safe outcomes across the UK fleet? Want to influence strategy, work with key industry partners, and make a real impact? At EDF, success is personal and your contribution truly matters. As a Technical Lead in Nuclear Decommissioning, you'll deliver expert technical support and oversight to ensure safe, compliant and efficient decommissioning across our stations. Working closely with teams across Nuclear Operations, and external partners like the NDA and NRS, you'll help align decommissioning strategy and share best practice across the industry. This role can be based at our Gloucester or Glasgow office, or across our wider fleet, with an expectation of hybrid working between home and office. Some travel across sites is required, giving you exposure to a wide range of projects and stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing
- Giving technical advice, oversight and authoritative counsel to guarantee safe and effective decommissioning.
- Collaborate with NRS and the NDA as necessary to formulate decommissioning strategies for AGRs/SZB, fostering strategic alignment in deconstruction and ensuring seamless transitions for AGR sites while establishing suitable plans for SZB.
- Contributing to nuclear safety case development and upholding compliance with site licence conditions.
- Facilitate interactions with regulators and external organisations to maintain positive relationships.
- Offer authoritative technical advice in waste management and decommissioning to guarantee the secure, efficient and dependable execution of decommissioning.
Who You Are
We're looking for a Technical Lead with proven nuclear experience in engineering and safety case environments. Do you offer?
- A HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject as a minimum.
- Demonstrable experience working in the nuclear industry within engineering or operations roles.
- Proven experience supporting or developing nuclear safety cases in regulated environments or driving compliance.
- A background in mechanical or civil engineering applied to nuclear projects is desirable.
- Experience delivering technical input across complex engineering or decommissioning activities.
- Experience working within regulatory frameworks and engaging with nuclear regulators and other industry stakeholders.
- Exhibit strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to offer expert technical advice within the Group's designated areas of responsibility so effective communication skills, adaptable to various audiences and communication tools, are essential.
