The Opportunity
As Metering Services Manager, you’ll have a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality metering outcomes for our Business and Wholesale customers across all meter types. You’ll help drive EDF’s journey towards An Electric Britain, with a focus on improving meter health, data quality and operational performance beyond baseline compliance. You’ll influence the in‑life customer experience, support delivery under MHHS, and play a key role in shaping how we improve outcomes through smarter use of data, systems and ways of working. You’ll join us on a starting salary of £45,760 per annum. This is a hybrid role, with flexibility to work from home alongside occasional travel to our Exeter – Gadeon House office to connect, collaborate and support key operational activity.
Who You Are
We’re looking for an experienced Metering Services Manager who brings strong operational leadership, process optimisation expertise and a performance‑driven mindset. You’re confident leading teams through change, improving complex operational processes and balancing service delivery with continuous improvement. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:
- Energy sector experience, ideally with knowledge of meter operator activity, metering processes, meter health, data flows and market change such as MHHS
- Proven operational leadership with accountability for right‑first‑time performance and service quality
- Experience leading and developing teams while driving automation and simplification
- Strong analytical capability, using data to prioritise improvements and optimise performance
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and industry partners
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading end‑to‑end delivery of metering services, ensuring high‑quality, right‑first‑time outcomes across ADS and SDS
- Owning and optimising operational processes including onboarding, novations, triage, fault resolution and job closure
- Driving automation, standardisation and continuous improvement with Technology, Data, Commercial and Product teams
- Providing day‑to‑day people leadership, setting clear expectations and coaching teams to deliver strong performance
- Representing EDF with industry bodies, suppliers and operational forums
- Identifying operational risks, data quality issues and performance gaps, and delivering sustainable solutions
