The HPC Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project. Hinkley Point C is the UK’s first new build nuclear power station in a generation that is critical to the UK NetZero targets. All roles on the project require key behaviours which support the Zero Harm objective, a questioning attitude, and drive to uphold the standards of safety and quality required by this prestigious project. A committed strong work ethic is essential at all levels. All candidates are expected to demonstrate their knowledge and experience where possible directly related to the criteria required for the role. It is acknowledged that previous Nuclear based experience will not always be possible, as such supporting with project research and how individual skills may be transferable will be important.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the Quality Manager in ensuring that the Project Quality Assurance requirements are understood and implemented and to ensure that Client and statutory requirements are effectively met.
  • Provide quality management expertise to meet project requirements, ensuring that products and services are delivered Right First Time (RFT), in line with HPC Project goals.
  • Promote effective issue resolution and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Key Deliverables:

  • Provide and demonstrate positive Nuclear Safety leadership, building a strong and compliant culture throughout the whole construction life cycle. Ensure all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly.
  • Support the Quality Manager in capturing the changes to Quality requirements in contract requirements mapping/capture process.
  • Maintain and update the Contract Quality Assurance Plan (CQAP).
  • Assist in managing the Quality Management System (QMS) of the project according to the project policy, contract requirements and Dalkia PDS.
  • Ensure the communication, training and implementation of the QMS within the project team.
  • Monitor and measure the efficiency of the QMS and ensure improvement of the QMS throughout the project life.
  • Assist in preparing audit planning, performing audits (including supplier assessment audits), follow up sentencing of findings and progress of action plans.
  • Co-ordinate preparations for external audits of the HPC project and follow up sentencing of findings and progress of action plans.
  • Assist in managing the NCR process, support the monitoring and resolution of non-conformance corrections, and tracking of corrective actions to completion.
  • Review and approve Quality records as part of the Life-Time Quality records for approval of the Client - Ensure that records show traceability of the works.
  • Review and monitor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), End of Manufacturing Reports (EoMR), End of Construction Status Reports (ECSR) and End of Erection Status Reports (EESR).
  • Support the overall process of quality release of equipment to site and handover of areas.
  • Interface with quality client representatives.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Qualified ISO 9001:2015 Lead auditor with experience auditing to the standard.
  • Good understanding of inspection processes and protocols.
  • Understand the concepts and applications of problem solving and improvement tools.
  • Competent in producing, tracking and analysing quality key performance indicators (KPIs) and creating QA Dashboards.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Business or a related field or a minimum of 3 years of Quality Engineering experience within a regulated industry.
  • Fluent in English language.

Additional Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience in Quality Tools (6 Sigma / 8D / RCA).
  • Proficiency developing and reviewing QA-related procedures, templates and forms, with a solid grasp of QA best practices.
  • Understanding of document management systems.
  • Knowledge and compliance of Quality Systems, ISO 9001, ISO 19443, IAEA GSR-2 and relevant standards.
  • Proven experience in a quality engineering role within a project driven environment ideally within the Nuclear industry.
  • Proven experience of interaction and resolving issues with a wide range of stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Knowledge & understanding of nuclear site license conditions.
  • Engineering construction experience in any relevant discipline would be advantageous.

  • Hinkley Point C Construction Site, Wick Moor Drove, Nr Bridgwater, Somerset, TA5 1UF.
  • 9 Day Working Fortnight is an option.
