Role Overview
The Site Purchasing Assistant will support the procurement and supply chain function on a large-scale nuclear new build project. Working closely with procurement leads, site teams, and suppliers, the role ensures timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials, equipment, and services to support site delivery while maintaining compliance with project procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Raise and process purchase orders in line with project procedures and approval workflows.
β’ Support the procurement team with sourcing materials, plant, and services required for site operations.
β’ Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, track orders, and confirm delivery schedules.
β’ Monitor order progress and resolve any discrepancies relating to delivery, quality, or invoicing.
β’ Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure documentation is compliant with audit requirements.
β’ Assist with goods receipt processes, ensuring materials are logged correctly within site systems.
β’ Support invoice verification and reconciliation against purchase orders and delivery notes.
β’ Coordinate with site teams (construction, engineering, stores) to ensure material requirements are met.
β’ Maintain stock control awareness and assist in managing site inventory where required.
β’ Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, commercial controls, and nuclear compliance standards.
Experience & Qualifications
β’ Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role within construction, engineering, or industrial environments.
β’ Familiarity with procurement systems (SAP or equivalent) and purchase order processes.
β’ Experience supporting invoice reconciliation and supplier coordination.
β’ Strong organisational and document control skills, with attention to detail.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
β’ Experience in a regulated or large-scale project environment desirable.
