The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Wind Turbine Technician to join our North East Team.
We are looking for a candidate that has experience as a Wind Turbine Technician, ideally with knowledge of Nordex, Vestas and Senvion Wind Turbines, to join us during a period of growth.
Reporting to and working with the Lead Technician, you will be based at our Durham Service Centre where you will assist with overseeing the operations of our wind farms located in the North East England area and support the wider O&M team.
You will be expected to deliver scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services in accordance with manufacturers guidelines, and be responsible for day to day activities in the area.
The position is based at the Meadowfield Service Centre, and we are looking for a candidate that lives within a suitable commutable distance.

What you’ll be doing
- Scheduled service in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines
- Report, planning and overseeing maintenance activities
- Managing all aspects of spare parts and consumable stock
- All aspects of fault-finding, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on all turbine systems, which will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies.
- Completing major and sub components replacements, working and planning under CDM regulations.
- Proactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtime.
- Organise, supervise and oversee specialist and subcontractor activities works onsite.
- Liaise with various EDF remote diagnostic teams and plan work accordingly.
- Complying with all health and safety requirements including the WTSR.
- Providing out of hours and weekend response to turbine breakdown.
- Ensuring the highest level of turbine availability.
What do you need to be great at this role?
We are looking for a strong safety-minded person with excellent analytical thinking. This role requires a strong sense of planning and organisation and an ability to communicate and pass on technical knowledge.
Equally important is a genuine enjoyment and enthusiasm for working in this field.
You must have a full, clean UK Driving Licence.
