Opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor working with The Civil Works Alliance on the Sizewell C Project,


Main Duties:


β€’ Maximises digital opportunities
β€’ Prepares Activity Schedules, Resource Schedules & analyses tender documents
β€’ Critically appraises, estimates, and negotiates the above with 3rd parties
β€’ Planning
β€’ Reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-Location,
β€’ Assists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmes
β€’ Project Management
β€’ Monitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriately
β€’ Analyses the commercial progress and report to senior project staff
β€’ Manages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibility
β€’ Procurement
β€’ Undertakes constructability analyses using construction programmes
β€’ Prepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategy
β€’ Commercial Management
β€’ Analyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and or compensation events as required
β€’ Undertakes customer and stakeholder management for their area of responsibility
β€’ Prepares, submits and negotiates claims when required
β€’ Prepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliation
β€’ Development, Recruitment and Retention
β€’ Maintains own Personal Development Plan
β€’ Manages HR/People aspects for direct and indirect reports (PDRs etc)
β€’ Actively supports the development of others incl professional mentoring
β€’ Produces plans for team to achieve goals / aspirations
β€’ Supports recruitment of lower grades


Qualifications & Experience


Essential


β€’ BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent
β€’ Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards)
β€’ Experience in mentoring, and providing stretch and challenge for team members and ensuring
clearly defined development plans are in place
β€’ Strong leadership and management skills, including completion of formal qualification (e.g., ILM)
β€’ Wide ranging independent judgement evident
β€’ Has achieved professional accreditation and undertakes extra-curricular activities to advance the
profession (e.g., RICS,
