Are you confident in producing detailed technical documentation and analysing health and safety performance data to uncover key insights? The Opportunity
As Safety Systems and Improvement Advisor, you’ll be a key member of the NNB PC Health, Safety, Lifting, and Temporary Works team. You’ll oversee the day-to-day management and maintenance of the project’s health and safety management system and construction phase management plan. You’ll manage health and safety performance reporting for the department and coordinate incident notification communications in partnership with Area Safety Leads, ensuring clear and timely information flow across the project.
You’ll collaborate closely with the NNB PC team, Tier 1 delivery partners, and construction and commissioning teams to maintain and improve H&S risk management tools. Your role will support compliance with the NNB HPC Safety Management System and contribute directly to our goal of achieving zero harm across the HPC Project.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll manage, develop, and maintain the HPC safety management system and its related procedures, working closely with subject matter experts. Overseeing the health, safety, lifting, and temporary works department’s performance data reporting and produce insightful reports that highlight emerging trends and issues.
Ensure organisational learning from health and safety reports is effectively managed and shared with teams to drive action. Support monitoring, auditing, and review processes to maintain consistent performance and compliance with NNB health and safety standards by collaborating with the Head of Department, Area Safety Leads, construction teams, internal departments, and Tier 1 contractors.
Engage with key stakeholders to review and implement the health and safety management system and lead regular management system reviews to ensure alignment and continuous improvement.
Who you are
You’ll have extensive experience in building and managing safety management systems for complex construction and engineering programmes. You’ll be skilled in producing detailed technical health and safety documentation and have a strong focus on delivering results while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
You’ll be proficient in compiling, analysing, and presenting health and safety performance data, supported by extensive auditing experience. Comfortable working within large corporate environments, you’ll demonstrate excellent communication skills and a solid understanding of CDM Regulations. Chartered membership of IOSH or an equivalent professional body, along with a NEBOSH H&S Diploma or its European equivalent, are essential to success in this role.
Ideally, you’ll also have a working knowledge of national and international HSE standards, a proven track record of delivering excellent safety results, and experience as a lead auditor. This combination will enable you to contribute effectively to maintaining high safety standards across the organisation.
