Responsibilities
- Planning numbers of inspectors required according to the progress of the works.
- Performing and/or supervising subcontracted NDT operations on site.
- Responsible for drawing-up and issuing test and inspection reports.
- Performing and monitoring the NDT technical inspection (X-ray films, comprehensiveness of the films submitted by the subcontractor, compliance with procedures, etc.).
- Ensuring, in conjunction with the site Logistics Manager, the availability on site of inspection equipment and their return to the store.
- Attendance at the EM2 weekly internal progress meeting.
- Production of a weekly report to inform IBSQ head office of progress on inspection activities and problems associated with these activities.
- Examination of documents created, revised, modified and checked by the 'Site Methods' unit on site.
- Assisting with the acceptance of equipment, hardware and consumables, if necessary in conjunction with the EM2 store or FRAMATOME site logistics manager.
- Participating in the pre-check signoff of the quality plans.
- Assisting in the opening and processing of nonconformance reports, deviation reports and observation sheets.
- Assisting the methods unit in compiling the Erection Work Completion report for the various items of equipment.
- Gathering together, as the works progress, the documents (Follow-Up Documents, records, etc.) proving the satisfactory performance of the work, up to the completed FUD (including external IBS approvals).
- Ensures that the notifications, according to the monitoring documents to the supervisory organizations (customer), have been issued.
- Ensures that the site work monitoring documents are updated by the erection teams.
- Signing of 'concreting approvals' before issue.
- Centralizing and formalizing all information liable to provide feedback in order to improve our erection operations.
- Managing calibrated appliances and tools (in collaboration with the logistics unit performing revalidation).
- Time management of personnel placed at his/her disposal and contractual follow-up of NDT subcontractors.
Profile
- General engineer or quality control manager having extensive experience of NDT testing in nuclear power plants.
- Fully conversant with the various applicable construction and inspection codes and the rules imposed by the customer of the project.
- Desired qualification: COFREND 3 X-ray and COFREND 2 US.
- Ability to manage a team (of expatriates and local personnel) and subcontractors.
- Ability to form quality relationships with the different interfacing units, both internally and with the supervisory units of the customer or the safety authorities, subcontractors and local service providers.
- Very exacting, with highly developed organizational skills.
- Ability to manage contracts, meet set budgets and produce reports.
- Fluency in English essential.
