Main Duties:
- Obey the duties and instructions given by supervisor.
- Lift and move materials, machines or products in many directions.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain mechanisms such as cables, pulleys, and grappling devices.
- Use of forks and winch attachments for lifting operations.
- Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities in order to prevent overloading.
- Running, maneuvering, navigating or driving equipment.
- Interpret and use International Hand Signaling for communication.
- Inspect cables and grappling devices for wear, and install or replace cables as needed.
- Check ground condition and that forklift is level on the outriggers before attempting to lift and place a load.
- Inspect and adjust forklift mechanisms and lifting accessories in order to prevent malfunctions and damage.
- Good work ethic and flexibility to work overtime.
- Review daily work and delivery schedules to determine orders, sequences of deliveries, and special loading instructions.
- Respect Internal Regulation and any other regulations implemented by the Company.
- Respect the Individual Labor Agreement requirements and refrain from disturbing the appropriate progress of the company's activity, showing suitable behaviour as per the Company's requirements.
- Assist other departments when required, including warehousing and traffic management teams.
- Assist in crating, de-crating, packing and unpacking of materials as required for lifting or transporting.
- Assist with any other miscellaneous activities where requested and when not required to operate telehandler.
- Ensure that a "zero harm" approach is taken in relation to all acts and omissions in relation to the services and the project.
- Acknowledge that due to the nature of the project, nuclear safety and security are of paramount importance.
- Agree to comply with any rule, instruction or requirement of the Company in relation to the services which the company determines, in their sole and absolute discretion, is necessary in order for the company to comply with obligations under the nuclear site license.
- Housekeeping of the work areas; collection, segregation and disposal of wastes as required; removal of unused materials and clear the work floors to eliminate/reduce slipping or tripping risks in your work area.
- Safe use, protection, storage and care of general maintenance products, hand and power tools.
You must:
- Take care of your own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do).
- Co-operate with others on health and safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your health, safety or welfare.
- Follow the training you have received when using any work items your employer has given you.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating similar equipment.
- Accustomed to work in adverse weather conditions while obeying all HSE regulations.
- CPSC A17C + E or NPORS Equivalent.
- Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS).
- Hold or can achieve CCNSG Safety Passport.
- Able to pass Safety Critical Medical Test.
- Telehandler Certificate with suspended loads.
- Will operate JCB Teletruk 3.5TE, JCB 540-140 (4TE) or Merlo HM.120 (12TE).
