Sizewell B was the first nuclear power plant in Europe to achieve this standard. As an Engineer, you’ll focus on Radioactive Substances Regulation, with opportunities to work flexibly across different responsibilities to ensure environmental and radiological compliance. Pay, benefits and culture The starting salary is from £55,000, up to £75,000 for experienced engineers. What you’ll be doing Your responsibilities will include: Assessing radioactive discharges and environmental monitoring Managing radioactive waste storage and disposal Providing radiological protection advice Reviewing outage programs and developing radiological protection plans Overseeing radiation dose assessments and radiological monitoring Supporting training related to radiological protection and regulations After training, you may become an Accredited Radioactive Waste Engineer or Accredited Health Physicist. You will also participate in emergency response roles, residing within approximately 25 miles of the station. Who you are You should have an HNC or Level 4 qualification, with preferable experience in Radioactive Substances Regulations and working in regulated environments. Strong organizational, communication, and management skills are essential, along with a proactive and positive approach to technical issues.
