Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of project quality assurance and quality control arrangements across manufacturing and construction activities.
- Review, accept and monitor Contractor Quality Assurance Plans (CQAPs).
- Develop and manage Project Quality Control Plans (PQCPs).
- Coordinate supplier audits, surveillance and inspection activities across the supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) and project quality specifications.
- Support the management and resolution of non-conformances, corrective actions and quality issues.
- Oversee manufacturing surveillance activities and support quality release processes for equipment entering site.
- Carry out inspections, audits and joint surveillance activities with inspection agencies and contractors.
- Monitor supplier performance and report quality metrics to project stakeholders.
- Ensure construction activities are delivered in accordance with approved quality standards and technical specifications.
- Work collaboratively with commercial, engineering, construction and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Support implementation of project-specific quality processes and lessons learned from Hinkley Point C.
- Occasional international travel to supplier facilities may be required.
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND or degree qualified in an engineering or scientific discipline.
- Proven experience in a quality leadership role within a safety-critical industry.
- Experience working within large, contract-led project environments.
- Knowledge of nuclear standards, welding, NDT/NDE or regulatory requirements would be advantageous.
- Professional membership with the Chartered Quality Institute (or working towards) desirable.
- Experience engaging with regulators such as the ONR would be beneficial.
Experience:
- Experience within major infrastructure, nuclear or other highly regulated industries.
- Strong background in Quality Assurance and Quality Control across engineering, procurement, manufacturing and construction.
- Experience managing supplier quality, audits, inspections and surveillance activities.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and contractor oversight.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders across complex project environments.
- Proven ability to identify issues, drive corrective actions and support continuous improvement.
- Proactive and collaborative approach with strong organisational skills.
