About the Role

Are you ready to lead and inspire a team driving Britain's journey to net zero? At EDF Power Solutions, we're looking for a Lead Wind Turbine Technician to help us deliver safe, reliable renewable energy and accelerate a cleaner future.

The Opportunity

This development role offers the chance to step up from an experienced Wind Turbine Technician position into leadership. You'll oversee operations across our England Northeast Wind Farms, supporting high standards of health, safety and performance while mentoring others to grow their skills. Alongside a competitive salary and potential for an annual bonus, this role is based at our Durham Service Centre, with some travel to other sites required. You'll join a team committed to innovation and operational excellence, working in an environment where safety and collaboration come first. We'll support your progression with clear development goals, leadership responsibilities and exposure to complex technical challenges. From managing maintenance plans to supervising contractors, you'll play a key role in maximising turbine availability and driving continuous improvement.

Who You Are

We're looking for a safety-focused leader with strong technical expertise and a proactive approach. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:

  • Qualification in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines to NVQ3 level (or equivalent experience)
  • High level of physical fitness and good health
  • Ability to work at height and in adverse weather conditions
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety
  • Previous accreditation as AT/AE under WTSR
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervising and leading wind turbine technicians to deliver high-quality work
  • Planning and reporting maintenance activities across multiple sites
  • Managing stock of spare parts and consumables
  • Troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ensuring compliance with safety rules and regulations, including WTSR and CDM
