The Opportunity
As a Meter Operative, you’ll be part of a team delivering accurate, reliable metering for our business customers, helping them understand and manage their energy use. Your work plays an important role in supporting our transition towards An Electric Britain. You’ll join us on a salary starting of £37,200 per annum. If you live within the M25, we’ve also got you covered with a £3,500 London allowance. This is a remote role, travelling across London and Essex each day. You’ll work independently on the road with daily travel across your region. Overnight stays may be needed occasionally. We’ll supply your tools, equipment, uniform, PPE, company vehicle, mobile phone and laptop. You’ll grow your skills through varied technical work from smart meter installations to 3‑phase tasks. Over time, you’ll have development pathways into LVCT, HVCT and more specialist metering work.
Who You Are
We’re looking for a Meter Operative who communicates well, works safely and delivers great customer experiences. To be shortlisted, you need to offer:
- Electrical or metering qualifications
- Experience in 3‑phase or multi‑phase electrical installation, or smart meter installation
- Experience in 3PH exchange
- Experience in new connections
- Experience working on LV/CT or HV equipment
What You’ll Be Doing
- Installing smart, AMR and advanced meters for business customers
- Carrying out 3‑phase or multi‑phase installation work
- Completing meter exchanges and new connections
- Following safety, compliance and technical standards
- Giving customers helpful and clear updates during site visits
