Location: London, 1/2 days a week in the office minimum

Salary: £84,000-£103,000 + up to 10% bonus + benefits including: 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, opportunity to purchase further holiday, pension scheme up to 7.5% employee / up to 15% Sizewell, private healthcare, flexible benefits allowance of £243.29 a month (£2,919.48 annually) to spend on additional benefits of your choice

Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert on all employment and expatriate tax matters across the business.
  • Manage PAYE compliance including PSAs, P11Ds, CIS and short-term business visitor requirements.
  • Lead on tax support for the expatriate population including registrations, payroll reviews and HMRC interaction.
  • Ensure all employment tax policies, processes and governance are robust, compliant and continuously improved.
  • Provide technical advice to senior stakeholders across HR, Finance and the Executive team.
  • Drive automation, simplification and accuracy of tax reporting and compliance processes.
  • Act as a key point of contact with HMRC and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong experience in both expatriate tax and employment tax with hands on experience across both areas.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience; preference for senior profiles able to operate at manager level with minimal oversight.
  • Experience managing expatriate populations: registrations, HMRC interaction, tax returns and payroll alignment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment tax compliance, including PSAs and review of expenses such as travel, hotel and business mileage.
  • Proven experience in tax governance and administration, ideally within a large or publicly listed organisation or within HMRC.
  • CTA qualified or equivalent experience is essential.
  • Background in HMRC or Big 4 or senior in-house practice employment tax role is highly essential.
  • Comfortable acting as a subject matter expert, working with stakeholders across Finance, HR and senior leadership.
  • Experience with SAP or S4Hana is beneficial but not essential.

  • Right to work in the UK and be eligible for security vetting (resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years).
